New York Yankees

The New York Yankees are a Major League Baseball team. The Yankees are in New York City, New York. The Yankees have the most world series wins and pennants of any team in the Major League history with 27 World Series wins and 40 pennants. The team is a member of the American League East Division. There are 44 yankees on the Hall of Fame. Their rivalry is with the Boston Red Sox and New York Mets. They air baseball games on usually YES, ESPN, Fox 5, My 9 and on the MLB Network. The yankees played in the following stadiums: Oriole Park, Hilltop Park, Polo Grounds, Yankee Stadium and Yankee Stadium II.In the 1920s, Babe Ruth arrived to the team, hitting more than 500 homeruns in pinstripes. Then in 1923, Lou Gehrig came. He spent his career as a yankee, hitting almost 500 homeruns. In 1936, a new kid came: Joe DiMaggio. He had a 56 game hitting streak which is a major league record. In 1951, he retired. The same year, Mickey Mantle rose. He ended up hitting 536 homeruns as a yankee. In 1995, Derek Jeter, Jorge Posoda, Andy Pettite and Mariano Rivera came to the Major Leagues. Alex Rodrigeuz came becoming third baseman.
